The Pogues were a British Celtic punk band formed in London in 1982 by Shane MacGowan. Blending traditional Irish music with punk rock, they gained popularity in the 1980s. Their best-known song is "Fairytale of New York." The band released seven studio albums before disbanding in 2014. Members included Jem Finer, Spider Stacy, and James Fearnley, among others.
